The main difference being an unbeatable price. Version 3.1 available15 mai 2005 - In spite of the fact that Version 3.1 is a minor release, it brings major improvements to the product. Link Tree. Now you can represent in a treeview, the relations existing between managed Objects. For example, a treeview showing Sites - Departments - Users - Equipment or another one representing Leasing Contracts - Leased Equipments. Link trees, like all other Synexsys classification trees are also representing powerful filters. Thanks to them, you will never have to type complex SQL statements for your queries and reports. New Reporting Wizard. Reporting is very often the weak point of management software. Most of the time you'll end up developing your reports from scratch through more or less complicated SQL statements. With the new Synexsys Assistant. You'll save up to 100% of development time. Within 4 to 5 simple and logical steps, you can create a report with grouping and calculated operations. You are then free to put the finishing touches to the reports in the new integrated reporting toll. New Reporting Module. With this brand new and fully integrated module, you can create all the necessary reports you'll need for your management. For example, Lists, Lists with Grouping, totalisation, calculation, Forms, Multi-level Cross-Tab, Stats, ... Many new functions in the Helpdesk Module. Conditional triggers can be placed on any field of the Call Sheet to automatically send e-mail and NetSend notifications or even more sophisticated actions like a "shell" on external applications with parameter passing . Multi-sites support. Synexsys Inventory always offered the possibility to work over multiple sites. Today the data transfer flow process is totally automated. Database optimization. From now on, Large Accounts will benefit from the latest database splitting that has been done in Synexsys. The splitting allows a better resources distribution on the server(s) and increases data integrity.
Version 3.0 availableNovember 1st, 2004 - After several months of testing our Reference Sites and the unanimous validation of Synexsys Clients, Synexsys V3 is officially released. Version 3 is a major upgrade bringing a lot of important functions to the products. Main new features are as follows: Configurations are now called "Objects". You can create as many Object Types as you need. For example: "Printers", "Modems", "Telephones" , "Users"or even more virtual Objects like "Contracts", "Warranties", "Training Courses", etc. You can link these Objects together". For example: you can link a user to a Department, a Department to a site. You can link 50 printers to their Leasing Contract or 5 Users to the Training Course they participated in, etc. New Field Types. You can create an unlimited number of fields for each Object Type. New Field Types such as Rich text, Tree, Link, etc. has been added to the existing types. Common Fields. Now you can create fields that will be "common" to "certain" Objects Types. For example: both a PC and a Printer have a price but a "User" doesn't. By defining the Field "Price" at a global level, you can associate it to the sole Object for which this field make sense. Automated external data importation. With Version 3, you can import any list or database of assets (Objects) in Synexsys. For example, if you want to manage Users within Synexsys Asset Management, you can automate their unattended importation every night. Customization. Each Synexsys User can create his own Summary Screen within Synexsys so that he will see only the information that is pertinent for him. You can record your PCs in Synexsys BEFORE they've even arrived in your Company. The day the PC will be audited for the first time by Synexsys, its technical data will be automatically merged with the administrative values entered manually at the beginning. New interface. The interface has been improved. It has a XP look and is even simpler than before.

Data Concept announces SXSnetMarch 28, 2004 - Synexsys family is about to be completed with Synexsys Network Devices Audit (SXSnet). SXSnet is a new powerful yet very simple to use network resources discovery module. The product will be available in several versions starting from the stand-alone mono-thread engine to the totally integrated multi-thread, multi-agent application. You can select information from each specific tab and consolidate it on the General Tab. You can create a PC BEFORE it is actually scanned by SXSi. The day this PC will be audited for the firs time by the SXSAgent, the data of the scan will be merged automatically with the former data inserted manually. New interface. Data Concept announces their collaboration with the CEGEP of Maisonneuve (CAN)December 22, 2003 - Data Concept is constantly searching to improve the quality of Synexsys software and is open to any kind of partnerships that would help to reach that goal.
